I think people are giving you advice based on a '99...The electronic speedo cluster is a whole different animal. The cluster does come apart. I had mine opened up to remove a finger print from the inside of the speedo lens.. how it got there, I don't know. Here's a page from bike bandit with a diagram broken down with part numbers for your cluster. I looked on eBay, and they are running $300 for complete assys.

I swapped the positions of the idiot lights around. Put the left/right in the middle and used a Teddy bear's eye from a habedashry shop for the new yellow - 20c . The rubber surrounds/speedo re-set could be sourced from a wrecker , but getting just them, cheap, might take a bit of time.
You got a clock? what year was that?  I had to drill a hole in the console idiot light plate, and then trim a wrist watch to fit. Requires
removing the plate and the duct tape holding the 'watch' in place, twice a year for daylight saving - but it is something car drivers seem intrigued by  ???

99's are plastic and can be taken out and polished with something, I used never dull.

Hello,

I bought my Drifter down in Dallas, TX three years ago. It's been a son of the South it's whole life, until this Yankee rode her home. There is some sun bleach on the aluminum master cylinder and clutch which looks pretty nasty. I can chrome that, no problem. What I can't fix is the speedometer gauge trip and clock buttons that have rotted off and the sun bleached Neutral, Turn, and Hi-beam indicator lights look like crap. Do I really have to buy and entire bezel for $90 to fix this? Does Kawi sell just the little rubber buttons? Has anyone changed the indicator light over to three glass jewels? My Dad surprised me back in 1999. After riding Harleys his whole life, he bought a Drifter 1500. He put 12,000 miles on that bike in one season on a huge solo trip out West. Then he sold it. Sadly,I didn't have the money at the time, but I fell in love with the design back then and always wanted to find one for myself. I finally did, but one thing I remember is that there were glass jewels for the indicator lights on that first production year. I double checked with the 1999 brochure that was inside the new owner's presentation box. (At least he had the good sense to keep the swag, and I now have his handlebar clamp on my 2001). I feel a mod coming on.
