I made the same mistake when I moved out here in '73. Pasties are ok, but I'd rather have a knish with horseradish mustard!

Yea I had to look up the pastie too, my thoughts were along a different pastie....

We grew up on Natchitoches meat pies. (Natchitoches was 40 miles away)

(When I went to find a link for this post I didn't know they were known well enough to have their own Wikipedia entry)

And while in Natchitoches, you had to get Grayons BBQ

They may not have their on Wikipedia listing but they should..

2 very good reasons to go out for a ride...

"Be right back, going to pick us up some authentic Michigan pasties for dinner tonight."

It's a three hour drive, one way, to my favorite Michigan pasty shop from our house in Wisconsin.

Pick one. Any one, and I'm gone. As to the wife being happy/living in fear, etc, I can go for a ride anytime I want to.....I just have to ask the wife if I want to or not!!! ;D

Normally if the weather permits, I'll just go out for a ride. My favorite excuses to go for a ride though, are " I have to goto the gym " or " I need to return this DVD to redbox ". Not too creative, but hey! I live in CA where the weather will permit me to ride a lot.  :P

IBI-UBU

never needed to have a reason to ride...no matter what the weather...if my husband took a notion to ride....then that's what he(or we) would do.....

now you sound just like my brother-in-law doing his two step dance about being the boss and being happy...we all know the truth .....

Nothing to fear, life is just easier if the missus is happy.

After 30years of marriage, I just have to look at the wife and she asks "when are you going to be back."  I usually cruise up to Luckenbach (Hill Country here in Texas), spend the day and come home.................oh and I always bring her something.  Just to be on the safe side. LOL

Well interesting question..............now when I was married and wanted to play golf I would wake up early and nudge her and start to snuggle up and she would say "what are you doing?"  I would continue and say I wanted sex...she would tell me to go and play a round of golf.....off I would go.....

Now I wake up look outside, clear sky's and I make a few calls, and off I go, met a few freinds and off we go...lunch is were ever we stop at noon, supper is normally at someone's house and is a BBQ, then home and park the ride and we are done for the day.........really nice having 4 day weekends to get lots of miles in during them 27 seconds......

Well, I think Ratman probably is expected to go for a ride, since he only get 27 seconds of riding season per year....... ;)

Drift1

Sorry DC,no need for an excuse for me neither.Guess after being cooped up with us all winter long, the Ladies enjoy having us do what we enjoy most.I'm very interested in what the Ratman has to say on this subject.

I ask about needing anything from the store to determine which bike to take...The Drifter has lots of storage, the W doesn't....

I don't have to make excuses.  If the weather is even halfway decent and I'm not doing anything, my wife expects me to go for a ride, and she's often dressed for riding too.

chief

Actually, my wife TELLS me to go for a ride. She says I come back really mellow.

I once made the mistake of telling her visiting an old girlfriend - name withheld - did the same thing. She followed me in the car for a few rides afterwards... she's one of those "trust but verify" folks!
