Nice to hear it can be done! Do you a picture of the result and maybe a picture of the bracket you made?

Thanks!

Pics of the brackets are here.

Picture sure would be nice,DC ;)
Nanook Singhs seats can be ordered with various size rear springs, and he now has to different style front bracket setups but like I said he can make what you need.

Thanks for the feedback, not easy to find comment on those seats. Do you have a picture?

The only thing that makes me hesitate is that on most drifter I've seen with the singh seat, the seat is sitting unusually high, the front bracket looks like it's about 2 inches higher than the tank bolt. I would prefer if the tip of the seat would come flush with that bolt,so the sitting position would be about the same height as the bottom of the tank on not 2-3 inches above. But I don't know if the bracket would allow me to mount it this way.

Thanks again!
Rob

The seat mounting was high for me also.  So I made my own brackets that lowered the seat enough for me.  I still need to post the before and after pics.  As was mentioned, Singh will work with you to make a change to lower your seat mounting.  But I just made my own brackets to finely tune the height myself.

Greenbarn you are correct in your statement, brother
Nanook,I ride solo seat as well, although I already have a sprung seat and is comfortable as hell,I like the style of Singhs seat. That being said I've done a lot of research on Singhs products and heard nothing but, great reviews so I ordered a custom seat from him.I should have it this week sometime being it cleared customs on Thursday.I've been dealing with Singh now for a little over 2 months for both business and regular BS as well.Great guy, indeed! He does have different size springs etc.for his seats. He also does fabricating for other products he designs and builds. That being said, take a look at his site if you like what you see get in contact with him and he'll make this seat to your liking I'm sure.I'll post a pic of mine for ya as soon as it arrives,my man

I believe mr. singh stated in an earlier post, that he will make you any configuration of brackets, though.  Might be completely customizable for fit

No Worries

#2

I have a Singh springer seat on my 1500.  I soaks up what bumps the suspension doesn't.  I have all kinds of back problems, but I have no back issues when riding, as this seat wages war with the road for me.  It's built like a tank with heavy-duty leather.  It was on the bike when I got it.  So I can't really make a comparision to others seats on the same bike.

Nanook

I have a travel horse 2seat up with back rest and rack as well as a pair of saddle bag in the "want to trade" section of the forum. I would finally like to sell the stuff but have no idea of the value, could someone please help me and tell me how much I should ask for the seat, and the saddlebag.
I'm going the solo seat route and will probably try a singh saddlerie spring seat, anybody got experience with those? are they comfortable?

Thanks
