If you are a very fat veteran you need more pressure than a very thin veteran..I'm a medium veteran so I have 30 on the front and 40 on the rear..No I'm 224lbs which is quite heavy...add saddlebags and I need 40 on the rear.

I wouldn't put 40 on the front..

"veterans" --- you have to take this stuff with a grain of salt. Watch your tires and adjust the pressure accordingly. I run 38/40 in my Metz's. (4th or 5th set on mine). Too low and they will cup out. Too high and you lose traction and handling in the twisties suffers.

I just purchased (200 miles ago) a set of the Metzler 880 Marathon tires for the 2002 1500 Drifter. I ride alone. I also got my bearings upgraded and replaced in the steering column. My ride is like new! I'm running 41psi in each tire, not 30 something like the manual says. In talking with some veterans the forty one psi setting is the only way to go. Rougher ride but tires last longer and performance does not suffer. Anyhow, just my two cents. Oh yeah, new tubes, and new cores, etc. I got over 8000 miles on the Dunlops that were on it when I bought the bike.

BTW: There can be only one!!
