Automatic kickstand

I had a similar experience - stopped the drifter in front of garage door, got off and opened the door.  Pushed the bike into the garage, not noticing that the kickstand folded up part way when it hit the hump going in the garage.  When I set the bike over on the stand, it folded all the way up and fell over pinning me up against the wall, luckily, or it would have gone all the way over.  For a "small" bike, those things are heavy laying up against you against the wall!!!

Pretty near the same thing I did 2 years ago; rode my Harley,(I know, there is that dirty 6 letter word again) in beside the Drifter, flipped the kickstand down, my foot hit a piece of chain on the floor, so I kicked it forward, away from the bikes. Pulled my foot back to set the bike over, my pant cuff hooked the stob on the side stand and pulled the sidestand back as I laid it over on to the stand. Over went the Harley, put a dent and gouge in the right tank side on the Drifter. It's a wonder I didn't hurt my back kicking my own butt over that one. Oh well, at least we don't mind proving we are human....

Sorry to hear about the bad news, but at least there is a bright side:

damage was small and should be easily fixable
you had someone to help you pick it up
no body got hurt

Could have been a lot worse...  You could have pulled up to a biker bar, and parked at the end of a row of HDs, and knocked them all over......

   Don't know about the 1500, but I do know that the 800 has a automatic shut down if you leave the bike in gear and it will turn off the bike. But you will catch on really fast or have to buy a new bike...lol....

I think I'm just wore out. Been a long week. Funny thing is, my wife and I were at the grocery store check out line and the kid cashier dropped a can of veggies off the belt. Embarrassed, he said he had dropping stuff kinda day. I made sure he knew he wasn't the only one. After I told my story, the grin he was  trying to hide was priceless.  Ah, the hell with it. Lessons learned:
1) Don't ride Sunday after a 60 hour work week partnered with the flu.
2) Look down BEFORE I get off the bike.

Does anyone know the part number or have a link to the part?
Petemoss I usually use Chaparral motorsports or bike bandit to order and or find the part #'s.All you have to do is put in your bike info and it will show you all types of diagrams for the parts your looking for.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I believe the signals for a classic are going to be the same...all you have to do is remove the black rubber stem and attach yours. The fixture, lens, etc. are all the same......The ones on my W650 are the same as on the Drifter, except for the hollow stem.

I do remember those days. I'm fine, save the shit eating grin on my face from embarrassment. At least I'm laughing about, kinda. No damage at all except the turn indicator. I'm going to look for a set tonight.

AHHHH man,that stinks!If memory serves me corectly theres a set of turn signals on ebay.If not check out the forum store....All I can think of while writing this post is being in school and everyone yelling D!@$ when something like this happened...LOL..remember those days?Dude that's definately a rookie mistake for the beginning of riding season...At least it's not to much damage and your ok...

Road two hours with my brother today. Nice day to ride, get a bite to eat, stop at the gas station and FORGET to put the kickstand down Doh! Who forgets to put the kickstand down? Me, thats who. @#%!
