High Beam Won't come On

Okay, I went out to the garage and actually looked at the wiring harness. The switch is secured to the housing with 2 pozi-driv screws, and the connections for the switch are easy to see. The wires are soldered onto posts on the switch itself. I guess it's possible to have broken off one of the soldered on wires. At this point, I would check with a test light and the engine running. The Bl/Y wire carries the current, so it should be hot with the engine running, and the headlight relay triggered (it has to be, since the low beam works) and then switch to high beam and short the bl/y wire to the red/b wire. this should accomplish the same function as the switch. This will allow you to check the wiring harness up to  and including the indicator bulb. Good luck. I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I can't see your bike from here. I'm a little jealous, too, since it's 15 deg. F here, and we have 24" on snow on the ground.

I'm going to go out tot he garage a little later today. The front end is all off my 1500, so I can actually look at the circuitry without having to take anything apart. In the mean time, here is a scan of the affected circuits you need to examine

I have a factory shop manual for the 1500 '01 through '03.....I'm assuming, since you said horns that it's a 1500.  If it is, then I will scan the wiring diagram and post it if you want.  If it will help, the red and black wire carries the current to the high beam circuit, and the hot side of the high beam indicator lamp The high beam switch bridges the blue and yellow with the red and black. The blue and yellow wire carries the current from the headlight relay, triggered by the ECM. The fuse is for the whole circuit, and not for each beam.

After changing the horns out , I removed the horn and turn signal button control from the bars thats it  now after putting it back together the high beam and blue light indicator won't come on ,I checked the connectors and fuses , does anyone have any other ideas because it really doesn't make any sense to me ,it should an easy fix any ideas appreciated.   Thanks    Rick
