Corbin seat?

What exactly is horrible about the seat? Doesn't fit right? Uncomfortable? Lousy workmanship?
Interested on hearing the problem.

I can't tell ya why,..but the horrible is just uncomfortable,.to the point where say 1/2 hour or so & I'm getting numb-butt,hot spots ,..in a word misery. It is typical Corbin, well made, good quality,& it is beautiful......just can't sit on it for long.

An Air-Hawk helps,but that's just something else to fool with.

I have owned five Corbins, four dual [two-up] & one solo.

All on Kawasakis or BMWs,..the four dual saddles were all great, still have the one on my Nomad, 80000+ miles.

The one I have on my Drifter [solo] is horrible. I can't explain it?, & neither could they. They weren't interested in working with me about it. Said it could be modified?.. for an additional fee,..I declined.

I'm not knocking them,..just sharing my experience honestly.

The best approach is to use one. I REALLY tried to like the oem saddle on my Goldwing... way too cushy for me. Wrapped around my hips and burnt me up.

I recently heard from a user who liked corbins but the one he currently has simply will not work for him. Since all corbins are "made from scratch"... there might be some difference in them... though I have never found that to be a problem. It took me a bit longer to get used to the Goldwing, but I think that was because of the size of the seat and the seating position on that bike.

Well that's encouraging. Two "real" owners that like their Corbin seats. I got one on order but keep hearing from guys that don't own 'em telling me I'm crazy for getting one?? I hope more owners pipe in
PRO or CON, I don't care. I'd just like to hear from Corbin owners and their experiences on the seat.

I've had a corbin on my last few bikes. I have one on my Drifter and one on my Goldwing now. That should tell you what I think about them. These are custom and not cheap so you really have to like them to keep buying them. They ARE firm seats and some people simply cannot get used to that. I never have hotspots or "monkey butt" problems. We did 5000 miles in 15 days a couple of years ago with no problems.

I don't recommend any seat... there is too many factors involved - riding style, history, etc. What is perfect for me may suck for you. But I am very happy with my Corbins.

Corbin two-up saddle

After a couple of thousand miles on the saddle, myself and the hunny got nothing but praise to give it. No wishy washy pillow feeling , hot spots seem to be a thing of the past, have not had one since switching. It definetly lowered my seating position by two to three inches, which is a plus in my book, which by default raised the passenger seating by @ least the same, I think mabey a lil more.
Construction of the saddle is outstanding, and if I compare the construction of it with the OEM two-up, I would have to say it is out of this world outstanding. Actually, I would be degrading Mr Corbin by even comparing the two. Being in the construction trades myself (site supervisor), my analogy of the basepan would be Corbin= 3/4" plywood, OEM= 1/4" masonite. In fact , was so stiff, that my tank bib, kept it from lining up with the threaded mounting holes on the frame, easy fix though, when swithing out the mouting brackets, just slightly shimmed the rear mounting studs to pull them forward. It has six or eight solid quality rubber bumpers that separates seat from frame. On my OEM seat, two of the cushy rubber bumpers pushed there way right through my basepan, leaving just big holes in it, piss poor quality. Guess I am venting a little bit for spending hundreds of dollars on an inferior product, when I could have purchased this saddle way back when. Simply put folks, if your thinking of changing your two-up seat, you will not be dissapointed going for a true "SADDLE". Gidy-up. OHH, dont forget to order the backrests. Kudos to Mr Corbin.
I copied and pasted this reply from back in july, got about 8000 miles on the saddle now, nothing has changed my opinion of it, outstandind seat. There is good info. on the corbin site also to help you make an informed decision, good luck.

I'd like to hear from all you "owners" of Corbin seats. All the STUFF I hear usually is "HEAR SAY" from non owners. I hear they're good, no good, too hard, etc, etc. So bring it on, lets hear 'em all first hand.
I'm interested in knowing from the horses mouth. Anytime I see one on Ebay they go for more than a NEW one?!! Go figure?
