One thing that should not be overlooked; if the oil is dirty, leaving it in the engine over an extended period of time can cause deterioration of the bearings, due to the breakdown of additives in the oil as the life of the additives is depleted through usage. I make a habit of changing the oil after my last ride of the season, while the engine is still hot, then firing it up to push clean oil throughout the engine. However, as chief (and others) have pointed out, condensation from sitting in a cold environment also not good.

Oil... if you use dino oil and your bike is not stored in a temperature controlled environment, condensation will build up in the oil- so change the oil before the riding season in the Spring. Not so important if you use synthetic or store your bike in a heated garage.

I saw a link on here about winterizing, the page had wolves on it, but i cant find it now. anyone can link it? I have a carb and it had some suggestions. I have looked it up but so many pages can say oppisite things on says new oil other says change in spring etc... figured a page for kawasakis is better then general page. after all it is almost time here to put her away
