It wasn't an honest to goodness eskimo igloo... my apartment was 1/2 below grade and I parked the bike right up against the bedroom window with a cover over it. We had 12 feet of snow that year. As the snow accumulated I dug it out a bit and I stuck the hose of the hair dryer out the window and would crank it up periodically. It melted the snow a bit which refroze into a nice little "cave". The temps inside the snow cave were much warmer than the outside temps.

No pictures of the igloo... but this is the bike sitting in the parking lot of that apartment building.

I would personally love to see a picture of a Drifter in an Igloo.  I guess that would be one of those, 'thought I'd seen everything,' moments.  If you have such, please show us all!

I stored my harley in my bedroom at one point... also once built an igloo for it in 12 feet of snow... used an old hair dryer (hose/cap style) in there to keep it from freezing! Stored another in an enclosed bike trailer...

I have ensured I have a garage ever since.

Thanks Guys  only a handfull of days left riding up here in the north woods of Canada and with NO garage I'll have to wait till spring to do a complete change of all fluids and oils etc
My best advise to young couples   NEVER EVVVER buy a house without a garage

The wet clutch uses engine oil... good to stick with synthetic for engine and wet clutch...

The hydraulic system uses dot 4 fluid.

On a used bike, I always go through the pm schedule and do/check every mileage/time related pm up to that point on the bike... i.e. if the bike has 17000 miles I do all the pm's for 0-15k. I do any of the age related checks as well. That way I know for sure nothing has been forgotten.

Of course, if the previous owner kept good records - which rarely happens - you don't have as much work to do.

I'll give that a try, I know the previous onwer used synthetic motor oil, what is the replacement  fluid for the hydraulic cluth

Guessing: You may have air in your hydraulic clutch system; bleeding it will cure that and, if it's never been done, will help the rubber components inside it live longer.
If automotive oil has been used it could be gumming up your clutch plates and causing sticking after the bike's been sitting overnight.  I recommend Mobil 1 4 cycle synthetic motorcycle specific oil to solve this and it may take a couple of changes, with 5000 miles of running, to get the sticking to subside.

my 99 1500 seems to change gears perfectly when useing the hand sfiter, but when shiftin between 1st and 2 it does't mesh good at all using the foot shifter a little better mesh as I get in to the higher gears
Any thoughts? Is there an adjustment for this?
Mileage is 10,700 miles
