You will pay more from a dealer. But there are benefits. Additionally, the extra expense you indicate will be there regardless... 4995 is a good price if the bike is in good shape. IMHO.

One feature the 1999 has (mine) is that the clutch will need rebuilding at 30,000 or so.  Weak spring by design.  Something to consider when plunking down the cash.  The later models don't have this problem.  Dealers charge $600 for the job or more.

They want $4995 plus $200 make ready/inspection plus ttl. It'll be $5600 before all is said and done.

I think I'm going to hold out for the 2001 oxblood/cream that I really want and try to pay under $5000.

I gave $4800 for my 2001 w/15,000 miles on it.

I've been trying to sell my 99 1500 for $4700 and not getting any bites (12K and quite a few OEM add-ons).

Everone was a different opinion when it comes to price . This is mine  A good clean 1500 with less than 30000 miles is worth between $4000 to $5500.    Then add in what the options are worth to you, not what they cost. I  use 1/2 of what they cost, and is this something I want on my bike.  My 2002 1500 drifter is insured for just under $9000.00 ( $ 5500.00 bike, the rest add ons)
On a good day I might get $ 6500.00.  If you are paying cash your in the drivers seat. good luck.

I just wanna see if I'm getting a good deal so I thought I would come to the experts.

How much should I pay for a '99 Drifter 1500 with the following?

20,000 miles
Maroon
Corbin Saddle
(Plus the factory 2-up seat)
Boxed Book with engraved plate and owner's certificate
Saddle bags
windshield
Last 4 of the vin is 3576 or something close to that.

Bike is super clean and it's local so I don't have to pay for transport and I've done business with these guys before and they are a good store and never sell junk.
