I think you're looking at the Harley replacement one on the site.  That isn't the one that was on Ebay.  The universal one was what the Ebay pics were showing, and that's here: http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=26&menu=Accessories&product_id=380&s=prod.php

Don't ya just love smoke and mirrors?

BTW, using their measurements, that fairing is only wide enough to cover the 2 slave cylinders on my stock bars.  The levers and grips will hang out beyond the fairing.

Let us know how it works out for you!

Aaron Mitchell

the mutaza one on their site was way more than the one on ebay, thats what i was referring to sorry.

pcarrell

Oh, sorry.....I thought the one you ordered was $119, while the Mutaza was only $99.  Guess they must get ya on the shipping.

This one has the windshield with it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/230727984945?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649, whereas the one in the original post does not, might look into it.

THat fairing is quite sub-par..... Also i dont know what size shield i would need until after its on the bike but thanks for the help

and the Mutaza one is more expensive than the one i ordered

pcarrell

I didn't know they were doing fairings now!  You can buy direct from them here: http://www.mutazu.com/

You should photo document it as you go.  It would make an awesome edition to the mods section of this site.  I know I'd read it!

Yeah i should be able to come up with something once it gets here, just easier once its in my hands

I'm going to add an inner, radio, and fairing mirrors once i get everything else sorted out with it

pcarrell

That's a good deal on the fairing!  Are you any good at fabricating, or know someone who is?  I was just thinking of doing a frame mount.

check that out and i think i can make this work

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Fairing-for-Harley-Electra-Glide-Road-King-Street-Glide-Road-Glide-/180986592835?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a23a43e43&vxp=mtr

with these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-1-4-Slipstreamer-1-1-4-Bar-Clamp-/370649908978?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564c74c6f2&vxp=mtr

and then just have to figure out the bottom mounts....

wish i could find some better handlebar windshield clamps for 1 1/4 bars though

but i should be able to make the headlight fit the hole in the fairing if i trim it, and ill have to drill 2 holes in the fairing to use the windshield kits but shouldn't be too bad

if needed maybe add another set of the windshield mounts (i have 10in tbars on my bike so one set at the bottom right at the tripple tree and one set on the top bar rail)

I think ill bite the bullet and try it out

The 1500 and 1600 Classic front ends are different.  I'm not sure what mods would be necessary to make that swap.

On a slightly different take, have you been to Gadgets page?  He has several mounts (none for Memphis Shades specifically) that may help.  Look towards the bottom of the Paint & Body section: http://www.gadgetjq.com/gadgetsfixitpage.htm#paint

I've read several times that a classic front end is the same as the drifters. Well i also read that a classic fairing kit should fit but never see it confirmed.

Well im willing to bite the bullet and give it a shot, except i cannot find a fairing kit for a vn1500 classic with fuel injection (not sure what the difference is) But regardless i dont want to order something that
simply wont work.

So if someone can point me in the directions of a memphis shades batwing that is for the appropriate classic ill order one

or do i need to get one for a 1600 classic? http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-08-Kawasaki-VN1600A-Vulcan-Classic-Memphis-Shades-Batwing-Fairing-Kit-/370616404286?forcev4exp=true&forceRpt=true#ht_3704wt_1163
