I have a feeling once the economy turns the prices will bump up a fairly quickly on these bikes

keep your eyes open... there should be a few good ones (1500's) as the weather changes.

The 1500 and 800 are completely different bikes - I wouldn't mind having an 800 myself.

2 drifters in one garage......... ;D ;D ;D ;D great minds think alike ;)
I totally agree with you on the customization, I have had more fun designing my bike to fit my personality, and since Kawasaki doesn't think it is necessary to carry any good aftermarket items for our bikes, we get to use our imagination and talents to get the job done ;D

that it has become to search for & find the accessories to make my machine - MY machine! This is becoming an addiction! My last 800 was already customized when I got it. Getting to pick out what goes on my new one.... its costly, but, the feeling is priceless. I don't understand why the Drifters are so reasonably priced being the reliable beautiful machines that they are. Nor do I understand why there is so little available from Kawasaki to put on them. So much has been discontinued. I want to thank all of you for all the help you have given me. A special thanks to you Chief for your help and especially for this site!
(Now that I've got my new 800 I'm contemplating maybe I need to be in the market for a big brother 1500 to sit in the garage with her while I'm away and take turns riding them when I'm home!)
