yeh, i guess sometimes you have to take a bit of a risk when buying stuff, i`m sure glad i got the bars to fit. otherwise i would have been stuck with one expensive set of bars. Just sorting out some custom made covers for them before mid winter attacks me. Just took a look at that Mo-TIQUE
site. Not bad at all, good range of stuff. Anyone by any chance fitted some 39" wide beachbars to an 800??

 >:( I have had to return parts after I was told a few times it will fit my drifter......it will fit a Vulcan...but not a drifter....always.....but I found Mo-TiQUE which I found on this site that does deal in drifter 800 parts and located in Holland, and they did right by me.

GPS is not to get you THERE but rather to get you home from THERE

My uncle actually named his sledge hammer "The Persuader".  I have a 4 1/2 foot long bar with various hooks on it meant for changing car tires on and off the rim by hand that I named Eugene.   Eugene is bad to the bone.

Sounds like you found your own Eugene!

Hi all,
Just thought i`d tell you about a purchase of cobra bars i did about 6 months ago.
I found them on ebay and this is exactly what the advert read:
COBRA CHROME FREEWAY CRASH/HIGHWAY BAR 96-05 KAWASAKI VN800B VULCAN CLASSIC
I asked them is they would fit my  99 drifter and they said they do, so I bought some.
Anyway I fitted them to the footrest brackets no problem, but the top bracket was about 10mm out of alignment to the left of the bracket. Considering they had  come from the USA to the Uk there wasnt much point in making a big deal about it, so i tied the bike to the garage wall and a sling on the bars to a winch and `pulled them into alignment` hey presto, perfect, and they look the biz. I just hope I dont have to remove them in the near future.
The moral to this story is they do fit the 99 drifter....with a little persuasion.
Just be aware though, ask the seller first just to make sure.    Ride safe
