Going for a putt

   Ok, so I left a little later than I'd planned. 21 days with no rain, and, of course, we  have a thunder storm the morning I'm leaving...oh well.  Pictures are posted. I have a new personal best one day mileage without ever leaving the state: 627. The Drifter performed flawlessly, getting an average of 46.1 MPG for the trip, which was mostly Interstate at 70-75 mph. I did see ONE other Drifter...in Kenosha. It was a '99 with tan Osprey bags, loud pipes, and was ridden by a guy who reminded me of Col. Sanders! Anybody resemble this remark?

  Maybe I'm crazy (?), but I'm involved in a little photographic scavenger hunt being put on by our local Kawasaki dealer. He started in in May, and I won the first month, and a new Castle Flex-Jacket...you can't win 2 months in a row, so I kinda slacked off for June, only getting about 80% of the stops. They assign point values to each stop, based on degree of difficulty and distance from LaCrosse.  I got all the stops the first month, for 945 points, 23 stops in June, for 1215 points, and now I'm going to leave for a loop of (according to Streets and Trips) 575 miles in 1 day that should net me 1610 points in one trip. I will probably win July, but the big deal is to be within striking distance in Sept. when He awards the "Grand Prize"...I have no idea what it is, but this guy is a good guy, and the prizes he's awarded so far are pretty nice...maybe I'll win a 250 Ninja...he gave one of those away last Fall in another contest he ran...This month's theme is war memorials.
