The 99's are going to have pogs... you can run the vin# on the buykawasaki.com site to see if there is a recall on that bike. The problem is, Kaw only recalled a certain batch of the POGs, not all of them. So, simply because the bike is not listed on the recall doesn't mean it doesn't have a pog, or that the pog will not eventually fail.

You bike may have had the recall conducted. You can look that up by vin#, usually through the dealer, but also perhaps through the buykawasaki.com site.
Replacing the pog after failure is far more expensive than doing it before.

Seems to me there is a kit around that claims to be installable without major surgery. As far as the P.O.G. goes, sounds like a question for your friendly local dealer.

YES oil pumps again. ive stumbled across a 99 nomad, beautiful piece. is ther any way to tell weather this machine has the cog by serching out the vin numbers. (that BS plastic piece in the pump). also, is it major open heart surgery. dumb question i know, but does the case have to b split.
