Maybe... sorta... the stock two-up that came on the 99/00 were not touched by corbin. The accessory seat sold after 01 was a Kaw pan which was built by Corbin to Kaw specs. The reality is - neither of these seats are comparable to the true corbin seat in looks or comfort.

So I had the full on corbin before on an 04 800 I had.  I have a chance to get the Kawasaki 2 up seat now for a 06 800 I still have.

My Question is, is the 2up Kawasaki also made by Corbin?  I am guessing it is not as comfortable but is it still comfortable?

Sorry, that is not correct.

K53001-023 is the seat part number and it is no longer available from Kawasaki. Go to buykawasaki.com and search for yourself. There are NO seats listed in accessories for the Drifter any longer. Search for the part number and nothing comes up.

These numbers may come up on parts listings elsewhere, but they will not actually have the seat available unless they have some old stock. The parts listings for some oem parts dealers simply aren't updated.

If you have some confirmation it is available, please send that our way. Unfortunately some dealers will say YES, just because its still active on the microfiche listing. We had this problem a couple of weeks ago with another part that has been discontinued.

The original oem seat (53001-1886-MA) is still an active part number, but that doesn't necessarily mean its available. You would have to take your chances on that one.

Needing to purchase another seat, basepan is damaged on my 2-up existing seat. I like the corbin 2-up seat (looks very nice), but I would have to scrap sissybar & luggage rack, which are utilized almost every time I ride. The corbin 2-up seat is 5" longer than the 2-up kaw. seat ( passenger seat longer in length). After researching, have to correct the drifter seat page on this site= you can still purchase the alternate 2-up seat from kawasaki, and looks like that is what I will have to do if I want to keep my max. storage areas.  Ride On
