Is there anyone around that has looked at beefing up the internals of a 1500?? I'm wanting to shave heads and possibly bore...any aftermarket support for oversize pistons/rods etc?? Any suggestions on do's n don'ts, cylinder wall thickness etc?? I'm a mechanical engineer by trade, so I'm confident in my abilities and knowledge, just never opened up a 1500, and was wondering if anyone's blazed that trail yet. Thanks!!

Thanks again...I didn't see it in there unless I looked over it.

According to Kawasaki (2002):

64PS @ 4700rpm or 63.12hp @ 4700rpm

Torque: 83.1 ft-lb @ 2800 rpm

This obviously changes based upon your mods.

And, I am adding the info to the specs. Thought it was already there.!

The 99 1500 is factory rated for 65HP @ 5500 RPM. Top Speed of 110 MPH.

So I double checked on the 1500 specifications page and couldn't find my answer there and I also looked around at the thread history and just can't seem to find out how much horsepower our "toys" put out...can anyone help?
