Is it normal to have to pump your clutch before riding?

What Andrew said...

I have always found it better to do the easy/simple stuff first then move into the rebuilds, etc. But it does should like a rebuild is in your future.

I would agree:  first observe, then i would bleed the system to confirm it is free of air, then test/observe.

Then once that piece of the equation is confirmed - if there still are problems I would move to replacement items.

I have to pump my clutch about 10 times if I've ridden the previous day, and about 50 times if it's been several days, before I actually get the resistance in the lever that tells me it's got hydrolic pressure.

Is this normal or am I low on fluid?

Definitely not normal.

Is there any leaking fluid down at the slave cylinder?

If not, to me it sounds like the master cylinder needs rebuilt and might as well go with the slave cylinder as well.

To me it sounds like you build up pressure in the system, then after a few days the fluid leaks past the master cylinder.

Not normal. Check the level. May need to bleed system... Or replace the fluid. After that it gets harder and more expensive

i'd say it's time to rebuild the clutch system(slave & mater cylinders)
