Looking for a Headlight
« on: January 08, 2017, 09:37:31 AM »

Previous owner took off original headlight and I am trying to find one .. super pricey for a new OEM ...

So hunting around as much as possible ..

Found this one to be close:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/272461044287?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Anyone recommend any others I want it as close to stock as possible.

Thanks !

If I'm not mistakin', the OEM headlight is 7" dia.
So, that one you've posted about is not so really close to it (maybe the gal in the second pic is quite close to my tastes, but that's another matter... lol...).
Maybe this one is better...: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cycle-Ray-Headlight-harley-davidson-Flathead-WL-Knucklehead-UL-Bobber-/332074353952?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=35jD2bB6SwpvuvlijNc97q7oN78%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
If you look in the Q&A part of the listing, you'll see that the headlight is 6" dia.
That's a item that appears on ebay very often.
I've recently purchased it, because I've in mind to change the OEM headlight of my Drifter, but I can't help ya further: the item hasn't arrived yet and the OEM headlight bucket is part of a new winter project!

The design and style look pretty close. The price is certainly right.

You might Email Indian_Fan as he has what's left of my old Drifter, and I think the headlight is still good on it.

I think jamman may be looking for the '99-'00 black headlight and other related parts for his '99.

There is always powder coating to make them black.

I pm'ed him to come check out the forum and to see what he had that you were looking for. So just have to wait and see when he comes on. I also know that there is a few salvage yards in the US with parts for sale some you have to bid on so be ready if you want to buy them.....I'll see if I can find them again.

Nadine is an '01, but the finishes being changed is a minor issue compared to finding genuine Drifter parts.

True, however the Drifter headlight housings are plastic.

Just got me thinking, I have a new Indian  headlight set from I believe Kustom chrome or something like that. A few years ago it was a neat think to do. I still want to do it. but you gotta run with a Harley windshield. Anybody still doing this I've been away from the forum a good while. Maybe this would be viable option for you? ::)
