Why Don’t We See More Japanese Heritage Models? (Bike Reports) (News)

As we test Honda’s new CB1100, we wonder why more Japanese heritage models are not being produced. Triumph, alone, has proven there is a substantial market for such bikes, and the Japanese, at least arguably, have an equally strong history from the 70s and 80s to draw upon. Pictured is a custom based on Kawasaki’s […]

I don't know if I should say this or not, but I was offered an insane five figure number for my bike last month.  I turned it down.  I'm neither wanting to sell, nor wanting to build a replacement bike up all over again over many years.

Hmmmm,  money and time spent on my Drifter AFTER purchase is probably about $4,000.

Yep, we (forum guys) determined his problem was overinflated front tire. Pretty sure it's a happy ending now

Well to me it sounds like your forks are just too stiff. Why did they change to a higher viscosity oil--wouldn't that make them stiffer?  I haven't done anything with my Drifter suspension, but I know with my other bike the amount of oil and its weight is crucial to getting the right amount of dampening in the front forks (and not too stiff). And just a few ounces too much oil in the fork tubes makes all the difference. it seems like possibly the shop messed up on that. Just a guess.

I was on his bike a few weeks ago and the forks are definitely not too stiff.  If anything, they have a lot more give than my Progressives.
