Hunting with a shotgun that sounded like a 22 would be so much more safe and fun... and it would likely not scare off game for two counties.

As you know, suppressors/silencers are one of the listed NFA items... like fully automatic weapons, short barreled shotguns etc. They are perfectly legal in most states with the proper taxes and paperwork.

Many states are now approving them for hunting. The fact is, they should never have been on the NFA list. They are safety devices which can be beneficial to the user and the public in general. There is currently an effort underway to have them removed from the listing.
The Hearing Protection ACT HR 3799 does exactly that. These devices would be handled as firearms.
Personally, I am writing to each of my representatives to support this act and the removal of suppressors from the NFA.
